Metta World Peace is releasing a limited edition NFT on Solana

NBA player Metta World Peace will be releasing a limited edition NFT on the Ethereum blockchain. This is going to be the first project of its kind, a basketball card that tracks stats and historical data. It also has an in-universe interactive backstory for players who are interested in learning more about it.,

Metta World Peace is releasing a limited edition NFT on Solana. The Metta World Peace real name is an NFT that has been created using the data from his Wikipedia page and will be released on the 28th of September.

Metta Sandiford-Artest, also known as Metta World Peace, a basketball icon and former NBA great, is creating an NFT collection on the Solana blockchain. The “Metta Designsoles” NFT line will be released in collaboration with Blanksoles, a decentralized shoe brand.

NFT Metta World Peace

The goal of this NFT, according to Raymond Dong, co-founder of Blanksoles, is “to have the sneaker be a blank canvas for expression for partners in our network.” The NFT collection will be available in a limited edition and will debut on Solana.

There will be 450 Metta Designsoles in the collection, each with its own set of characteristics. From March 14 to March 20, this will be accessible throughout the minting procedure. Redeeming Designsoles tokens will provide access to a limited-edition actual pair of Metta Designsoles designed by Marc Scepi, a shoe and NFT designer.

Those who acquire these NFTs will get their real shoes within a month, according to Dong. The inaugural collection will only include 450 products, but if there is a lot of demand, the firm may expand the collection in the future.

“When I got the chance to do Blanksoles, I was like, ‘Wow, I always wanted my own shoe,’” Sandiford-Artest said of the venture. He also said that he selected Blanksoles since it allowed him to personalize the NFT shoes. “This is why I’m a huge Blanksoles fan. “I believe that more players should take advantage of what is now going place,” he continued.

Blanksoles is a blockchain-based initiative based on the Solana protocol. The concept is focused on physical clothing and functions in both the actual and virtual worlds.

“From the beginning, Solana has been a fantastic partner for us. They’re the largest basketball aficionados and one of the fastest-growing blockchains for NFTs for basketball players,” Dong added.

Basketball players as well as Solana

Sandiford-Artest isn’t the only NBA champion working on new technologies. Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal are planning a trip to Solana Beach. On his Twitter page, O’Neal has even added a.Sol domain.

Jordan was also a part of a $46 million investment in Metaplex, a Solana NFT platform. Solana Ventures, Multicoin Capital, and Jump Crypto were among the other investors in the round.
